Co-ords: my most loved spring/summer trend

My love for co-ords started a few years ago when I had my birthday holiday planned in Miami. I knew what I was looking for, it was just a matter of finding it. There it was… I came across my first floral co-ord and instantly fell in love. I just visualised myself posing on the sunny Miami beach against the ocean blue sea. I smiled in happiness and my excitement grew.

From then on, my love for co-ords multiplied and my wardrobe collection got visibly bigger. Not only are co-ords comfortable but they can achieve different looks for different occasions depending on how you choose to style yours.

Look #1

This was my birthday Miami look (the one I visualised remember? 😉 ).
In the scorching heat of Miami in mid July,  I decided to give my hair a little up-do. As my co-ord set was a lighter colour palette I decided to wear large earrings to give me a more glamours look. By the way… large earrings are another serious obsession I have (will get to that in another blog… 🙂 Going back to co-ords, I decided to finish my look with a pair of comfy sandals.

Look #2

In this look, I opted for a vibrant look with bolder colours so I wanted to keep the accessories minimal. I accessorised with a pair of stud earrings and chose to dress the look up with a pair of heels.

Tip: If your wearing a bold or printed co-ord set, keep your accessories to a minimal. This will balance your look and keep it elegant. If you choose a lighter colour palette, you can dress this up with accessories and a pair of heels to get those heads turning.

Look #3

A year later, another holiday destination and my co-ord look still going strong. In this look I went for a baby pink polka dot co-ord, I accessorised this with a simple necklace and earrings and my favorite pair of mirrored sunglasses.

This look is to show you how co-ord sets can be worn as separate pieces to create a different look.

For my special occasion, at the Shangri-la in London, I wanted to create an elegant look so I used my co-ord skirt (Look #2) and dressed it up with a white top and white heels. As it was a mild spring day I used a light colour jacket to finish the look.

Co-ords are a great way to get creative. Try them out and let me know what you think. #stylebysajal
