Dark circles are a common problem that most women face, more so those of Indian background like myself. Dark circles under the eyes are often associated with lack of sleep, stress and poor diet. Though this is not always the case.
Dark circles are related to the amount of pigment in the skin. The darker the skin, the more pigment (melanin) is produces which can accumulate under the eyes causing dark circles.
In my case, my dark circles are hereditary, which means I can never really get rid of them completely but creams can help with the appearance of lightening them. Over the years I have tried numerous eye creams and finally found a few that have really helped me manage this problem.
Tip: If you have very thin skin around your eyes, try not to use stronger products or chemicals peels in that area as it can strip the skin and sometimes make it look worse. You want your eye cream to be as hydrating and nourishing as possible.
The 5 creams I have listed below are of a creamy hydrating texture that absorb very well into the skin without feeling sticky or looking oily. They are great for both day and night routines.
1) Dr. Brandt D.N.A.
Skin type: Normal, dry combination and oily
Thoughts: This is one of the most effective eye creams for me. It really helps reduce puffiness and dark circles.
The triple peptide complex helps targets more than just one concern, so it is also great for fine lines and wrinkles. The consistency is thick and creamy due to the shea butter ingredient. It feels unbelievably hydrating and nourishing.
